I am excited to be part of a product swap blog hop called Trade and Grade. Several teachers have gotten together and swapped products to test out and share with you.
I've swapped products with Amna Baig over at Teach Two Reach. 
This product is great for reviewing number concepts. I found that it had material that was suitable for both my grade 2 kids and my grade 3 kids. If you are looking for activities that have a spring theme, try these ones. Click on the image above to get your own copy.
This is the section I like best. It reviews concepts we have worked on and it offers differentiation for those who are able to do more difficult material as well as those who need to work on simpler material for the same concepts. Even though we have worked on these ideas throughout the year, the children can never get enough practice with them.
Check out all the great activities that are included in this package. The activities are practical and the spring theme makes them interesting for the students. 
We haven't done much with regrouping yet, so I haven't tried out those pages, but I will be using them later on when we have worked on the concept.

Parts of speech is still a difficult concept for my students. With examples and practice, they are getting it, but they still find it confusing. Here is the activity we did this week to practice using adjectives, nouns and verbs.
After generating some words for each category, we combined them to make 3 word phrases to create a poem. I used the posters from Surfin' Through Second as my category headers. These were very helpful.
Here are some of the poems that were created. The kids enjoyed decorating their papers as well.
After writing the poems, we started on some Spring murals. Here are some samples. They are still not finished.
Another activity we did this week was Seuss-inspired Mad Libs. This was lots of fun. The kids really enjoyed hearing the mad libs they created.
I plan on continuing with more mad libs. They are very engaging and they help students with parts of speech. There are many to choose from on Teachers Pay Teachers. I have found some great ones that I might share more about later on.

I am excited to share what we have been working on this week in my class. We have been learning about area and perimeter and doing different measurement activities to go along with this.
Whenever we talk about perimeter, I tell the kids to think about building a fence around the object. Whenever we talk about area, I tell them to think about the floor space that the object would cover. These provide a visual for them to connect with. I was lucky to come across a great free math activity from Blair Turner that I introduced to my students today. It was a big hit. The kids got to design their own dream houses. They really liked the sample one that Blair made and it caused them to become very creative with their own designs. Click on the image below to go to her TpT store and get your own copy. 
Here are a few examples of their designs. We still have to calculate the area, but the designs are so motivating, that should be exciting for them to try out as well. (Note: We didn't focus on spelling, so it may be tricky to figure out some of their rooms.)
You know it is a hit when one of your most challenging students says that it is the best activity we have done in a long time.
