On Monday, we had our first BC Blogger Meet Up. It was so much fun. We were a small group, but we enjoyed getting to know each other and share ideas and stories. It was great to see the people behind the blogs we were following. It was also special being able to meet other Canadian bloggers.
Here we are in Coquitlam at the Pantry. From left to right we have Addie from Teacher Talk - Addie, Dorte,a soon to be blogger, Charlene from Diamond Mom's Treasury, Shelley from The Write Stuff Teaching, Susanna from Whimsy Workshop, and Nicole fromPrimary Teaching Resources.
Check out the great gifts we received from Teacher's Tool Chest. Thank you Shelley for arranging this wonderful treat.
This was so much fun, I can hardly wait until next year. If you are a BC Blogger and would like to join our Facebook page, contact one of the people in the picture above and we will see about adding you. The more the merrier. We can get to know each other better before the next meet up.

This is my first link up with Currently. I am usually so crazy busy that I don't have time to stop and do this. I might have to change that.
Okay, here goes. I usually wake up ahead of everyone and this gives me a chance to think, read emails, and check out things on my computer before starting my day. It is peaceful to listen to the quiet house sounds. I am loving that my summer is only half over. I have had the great fortune to be able to spend it with my children and their families. I started the summer with my daughter's family coming to visit and then spending some time with the two older grandchildren. After that I flew to Korea where I am just finishing my visit with my son and his family. I love being with my grandchildren. I am thinking that I will soon be in Hawaii for my niece's wedding. I am leaving for Seoul in a little while to spend the night, and tomorrow night I will be flying out. It is sad to say goodbye to my family here, but I will be meeting up with the rest of the family in Hawaii. I am wanting to be organized at school and at home. I have been given forced relaxation by being out of the country. Normally I spend way too much time at school during the summer. I am needing to get my classroom set up. I can't stop thinking about where I will put things and what it will look like. I have a picture in my brain and I am itching to get in and set it up. Pretty bad, hey. My Back to School must haves are to do with my class. In our district, we don't get our new classes until the end of the first week. It all has to do with numbers, not kids. We need to make sure that the numbers meet with the district's formula. Once we get the okay, the classes are set and we meet our new students. Because I get my class back the first week, I want it to be exciting and different for them as well. That's why I change my room around every year. This is especially important if I do get some of the same children 2 years in a row. I want them to feel like it is new and special for them as well. The activities need to be fun for them as well. My bookshelves have been painted. Now I need to get them organized. Well there you have it. My first Currently is now complete. Thanks for stopping by and checking it out. I must now go and get the final things into my suitcase so that I can continue my journey. Have a fabulous August everyone. Click on the button below to check out other Currently posts. |
