Mothers Day Activities

We worked hard this week preparing for Mom's special day. Here are some of the highlights of what we did.

We began by using some of the ideas from Tracey's Mahalo, Mothers! Check out The Teacher's Chair to find out more about this.

This was a great way for the kids to get to know more about their mothers. It is a 3 page interview. It also helps the children learn how to do an interview.

Tracey uses similes and provides lots of practice opportunities. She encourages the children to think about ways to describe themselves and then ways to describe Mom.

For each of the Mom activities, she included a form for those who are not with Mom. The Special Lady can be a grandmother, aunt, foster parent, or any other lady that is important to those children.

We also made cards for Mom and we added a bit of writing inside of them. We used the information we had gathered from the interview and similes activities.
